3. Third Week

3.1 Thumbnails

This week we started our thumbnails. Rachel wasn’t in but Noor, Nicola, Eryn and Bobbi all started drawing out ideas for our final designs. It was tough to come up with designs but we decided between our designs on what we would do for our final pieces. We did this by passing around all of our designs and ticking our top two designs that we wanted each other to take forward. We felt this would be a good way of insuring our designs formed a cohesive collection.

3.2 Dazed Dorothy

Dazed Dorothy is the name of the company owned by one of our lecturers. She gave us a talk this week on how to start our own business as she had started her business, making leather bags, from scratch. She also used to do the course we are doing whie at the same college as we go to and she now lectures at.


3.3 Collection of Materials

We also brought in the materials that we had planned to bring in last week. There was wool, pearls, lace trimming, feathers and many other things. This really helped us when it came to designing our thumbnails.


3.4 Thoughts about Third Week


Bobbi: I found it slightly challenging to come up with lots of ideas that would form a collection with the other and I’m not totally convinced that my piece adds into a collection but I trust in my team’s judgement.

Noor: I feel we overall produced great collar designs and hopefuuy they will look like a good collection.
