1. First Week

1.1 Bee Waits for Noone

Before we officially began the process of our own company we were given a presentation from a guest lecturer, who runs her own blog 'Bee waits for no one.' She told us how she got started and took us through how we could start our own blogs. She told us that people don't like to read blogs as much if they are all about selling a product and that we should put some of ourselves into the blog.

She told us all about her little back dress project and how she would document this on her blog.

1.2 The Brief

We were given our brief of luxe, with words such as 'elegance' and 'luxury' as a key feature. As a group we successfully came to the conclusion that we wanted to create a gothic themed company. We each researched a variety of names and we came to 'l'elegance noire.' We thought it mixed in well and gives the company a sophisticated twist. Once the name was picked we began researching our own idea of 'gothic.' Most of our images were focused on lace, beading, cathedrals, chains and feathers. It gave us a great mixture to work with and I think our research will allow us to be more creative with our final collar pieces.

Thoughts For First Week

Nicola: Our first week gave us some useful information which allowed us to understand the business world but we also managed to work as a group to decide on our main theme and the name of our company.

Bobbi: I think our first week went well and I'm looking forward to working with these guys I think we'll make a great team!

Noor: We gained a lot of useful information and I feel we will use it throughout this project.
